What this service is
Blue Mountains Bathroom Renovations arranges bathroom, ensuite, small-bathroom, accessible, laundry and rental bathroom renovations along the mountains line, from Glenbrook and Lapstone up to Mount Victoria, with Springwood as the base.
You tell us about the room. We arrange a free on-site measure. A licensed builder provides a written, itemised quote and, if you decide to go ahead, carries out the work under a contract with you.
We are not a building company ourselves. That is better said on the page you are most likely to read first than buried in a disclaimer.
Who carries out the work
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request — on the discovery call, or any time you ask. You can check a licence yourself on the NSW Fair Trading register in about a minute, and we would encourage you to.
Asbestos removal, where it is needed, goes to a licensed asbestos removalist. Plumbing and electrical work go to appropriately licensed tradespeople.
Why a mountains-specific service
Because a bathroom up here has a harder job than one on the plain, and a quote written for the plain gets it wrong in predictable ways.
Cold surfaces and steam make condensation and mould the number one complaint in this market, so ventilation, insulation and heat are specified as part of the job rather than offered as extras. Much of the housing is weatherboard, fibro, Federation or inter-war, on timber floors over a subfloor, which changes what a renovation can do and what the strip-out is likely to find. Blocks are often steep, narrow and bush-fringed, so access and delivery are planned at the measure. And the service area is a long thin strip along one highway, so travel time between jobs is a genuine cost that an honest quote accounts for.
None of that is exotic. It is just local, and it is the difference between a bathroom that works through winter and one that does not.
What we spend your money on first
The same order, every time. Structure and floor, drainage and falls, waterproofing, ventilation, insulation and heat. Then tiles, tapware, vanity, screen and lighting.
The first group you stop seeing on the day the job finishes and can only change by demolishing the room. The second group you can change in ten years if your taste moves. Spending in that order is the whole philosophy, and it is why we will sometimes talk a customer out of a more expensive tile.
What we will not claim
- No reviews or star ratings. This is a new website. We have none, and we will not manufacture them.
- No project counts or years in business. Numbers we cannot substantiate do not go on the page.
- No licence numbers published. The builder's licence and insurance details are provided on request. They are checkable on the public register, which is a better form of proof than a number printed on a website.
- No engineered stone. It has been banned in Australia since 1 July 2024, so it is not offered in any form.
- No phone quotes. The things that drive the price cannot be assessed over the phone. The cost page gives honest planning bands instead.
- No accessibility certification we have not actually done. If a bathroom has been designed to a formal standard we will say so; if it has been designed on accessible principles, we will say that instead.
How a job actually proceeds
A call, a free measure of about forty minutes, a fixed written quote, selections ordered before a start date is set, then the work. The whole sequence is set out on how a renovation runs, including the parts — like membrane cure times in a cold month — that cannot be hurried.
